We All Wear The Ribbon
It’s a mistake any Dallas newbie can make. You get up one October morning and decide to catch breakfast somewhere west on Northwest Highway and then you see it: pink, pink, pink, as far as the eye can see. Traffic is at a standstill and you are left to marvel at the throngs of thousands participating in the Susan G. Komen Dallas Race for the Cure. You idle for a bit, allow your navigator to reroute, and head on your merry way, but you make a mental note to sign up for next year’s race. Here’s your reminder to be a part of the biggest fundraiser for an organization that serves thousands of moms, wives, partners, girlfriends, grandmas, sisters, aunts and daughters by providing breast cancer education as well as life-saving screenings and treatments. It all starts at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at NorthPark Center (8687 N. Central Expressway), and registration is $32 for adults and $20 for ages 12 and under. Visit komen-dallas.org to register and participate in that traffic-stopping 1K and 5K walk/run.
