I admit I have a certain fondness for those Broadway tunes, and I love a good soft-shoe shuffle, which is why I'm an easy sell for a night of song and dance complete with a little gender swapping at Uptown's Broadway Our Way. The show has been selling out annually for the past seven years, acting as an annual fund-raiser. It features past Uptown talent with a twist--the men sing the women's roles and vice versa, complete with drag and a lot of good humor. The show is anything but a drag, and this year's program, entitled Legally Divas, should be damnably entertaining as it pits the men against the women to "determine who the real divas of Dallas are." So head on out to the Kalita Humphreys Theater, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd., because even if musicals aren't your thing, I'm sure you can savor an evening in the company's new venue. Famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright designed the theater, one of only three existing Wright-designed theaters and the last completed building designed by the architect. Tickets are $40. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through January 24. Visit uptownplayers.org.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Jan. 15. Continues through Jan. 24, 2010
