Where To Blow Your Cash On Fashion’s Night Out
Go ahead and blame Vogue for the cash you’ll blow Thursday. Go on, we’ll wait. The publication launched the initiative for Fashion’s Night Out back in 2009, and since then it’s become the highbrow shopper’s equivalent to Black Friday. Most of your favorite retailers are getting in the mix with discounts, giveaways, fashion shows and little parties — it’s kind of a huge deal. If you rep Galleria 4 Life, you’ll want to pop over and check out the shopping mecca’s annual production. In addition to the stores doing their individual things, the Dallas Galleria (13350 Dallas Parkway) also boasts a quarter-mile catwalk, populated with two runway shows, produced by runway diva Jan Strimple. There are also shopper lounges, Skinny Girl Cocktails, a photo booth and tunes by celebrity DJ Brandon Olds. If you stay true to NorthPark Center (8687 N. Central Expressway), you’ll want to pop into Make Up For Ever. The popular Paris-based retailer finally opened a Dallas location a couple of months ago and the selection is massive; it gets even better Thursday when the hue dealers unveil four limited-edition, customizable eye-shadow palettes. Create your new fall lid, and take that pigment home. That’s not all that’s happening at NorthPark, no ma’am. It’s hosting three — yes, three — runway shows (at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.), mini makeovers, one-night-only discounts, giveaways and some swoop-through visits by performers from Cirque du Soleil’s new tent show, Kooza. It’s going to be like a couture street gang over there, with Oh So Cynthia and The Fashionistas repping for NorthPark — should you wear red or blue to show you’re on their team? I dunno, I’d pick a nice autumn teal. Highland Village also gets raw Thursday: The Chanel (100 Highland Park Village) makeup squad will release some limited-edition nail and lip duos, while Christian Louboutin (27 Highland Park Village) shows you your future with an in-store palm reader — I hope he leaves the part about your credit card bill out. That could put a damper on things. Visit fashionsnightout.com.
