Which Is Stickier, Body Paint or Syrup?
If you aren’t a fan of all-you-can-eat pancake bars, booze and “underground art” — including live body-painting — then steer clear of The Pancakes & Booze Art Show in Deep Ellum Friday. (Seriously, what is wrong with you?) After launching in Los Angeles in 2009, The Pancakes & Booze Art Show began touring cities from Brooklyn to Portland and from Atlanta to Austin. Now, the show lands in Deep Ellum featuring more than 75 emerging artists as well as music by Dallas’ own June Marieezy and Miss CJ (CJ founded Beauty & The Beats, Dallas’ all-female DJ collective). The event’s $5 admission includes the pancake bar, which means that after soaking in the art, music and booze you can skip an after-hours trip to Café Brazil, BuzzBrews or IHOP. Sorry, kiddos, despite the pancakes, the event is 21 and up. Show is 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at The Quixotic World Theatre House & Magikal Event Space, 2824 Main St. For more information, visit
Fri., April 25, 8 p.m., 2014
