Windy City Woodwinds

Chicago has been around for a long time. You may think they are yet another band reuniting, cashing in on the deep pockets of its sentimental fans, but, no, the band has been plugging along, putting out album after album, since 1969. They have lost key members to death and ego, but they kept on going, laying down hits throughout the '70s and '80s, and continuing to play, never breaking up, to this very day. They deserve some props for that alone. They have also churned out 21 Top 10 hits--including "Make Me Smile," "Old Days" and "Saturday in the Park"--five No. 1 albums and sold over 38 million records in the United States, and certainly some of those record buyers will turn out when the band plays its hits with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Morton H. Meyerson Center, 2301 Flora St. Tickets are $45 to $175. Call 214-692-0203 or visit
