Gentlemen, it’s unlikely you’ve given much thought to high heels before, let alone how you might be able to use them for the greater good. But it’s time you gave them some consideration. The Dallas County Sexual Assault Coalition is hosting the International Men’s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence, more succinctly called Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, which aims to raise awareness about the causes and effects of sexual violence. It does so by asking men to literally walk a mile in women’s shoes. Starting at Diamond Doctor, 8127 Preston Road, at 9 a.m., pump-wearing men will walk a one-mile loop to show their solidarity with women. If you register online, tickets are $30 for an individual and $100 for a team of four (on the day of it’s $40 and $120). Want to participate but you don’t have your own pair of wedges yet? The folks organizing the walk suggest hitting up Electric Boutique for large-sized heels (which is information you can use year-round). This year along with the walk, there will be a stiletto-decorating contest with cash prizes, so all the more reason to look your best. There’s nothing manlier than a guy who can stand up for a good cause. Visit dallascountysac.com for information and tickets.
