Wow, Did It Hurt?
As a kid, there was nothing better than watching that squirrelly little man in the gray suit and red bow tie, sitting in his favorite talking chair. If you, too, yelled right along with Pee-wee when someone uttered the Secret Word of the Day, check out I Fell 37 Miles to Earth 100 Years Ago, a solo exhibition by artist Wayne White. White was a co-creator of Pee-wee's Playhouse, and today exhibits his collection of new paintings and sculpture, featuring his interesting sense of humor and style. White interjects bold and colorful phrases upon a background of idyllic landscapes--a juxtaposition that is both pretty funny and definitely strange, just like Pee-wee himself. The exhibition runs through March 20 at the Marty Walker Gallery. For more information, call 214-749-0066 or visit martywalkergallery.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Feb. 20. Continues through March 20, 2010
