Your Moment of Zen: Sarah Vowell and Krys Boyd Unite
She’s Muskogee-born and Bozeman-raised, and in just 42 years, Sarah Vowell has penned five nonfiction books; traveled the country, sardonically exploring American history from a wry perspective; reported back to dreamy Ira Glass for Public Radio International’s This American Life; and, most recently, scored a spot as The Daily Show’s senior historical context correspondent. She’s a literary woman’s Tina Fey, David Sedaris’ other X chromosome, and you can celebrate (albeit a few days late) International Women’s Day on Tuesday as Vowell pairs with local legend and intellectual heroine Krys Boyd as part of the Dallas Museum of Art’s Arts and Letters Live series. Believe it, nerds, it’s an episode of Think right before your eyes, all converging at First Presbyterian Church of Dallas at 408 Park Ave. Tickets are $37, $15 for students, and the urbane conversation begins at 7:30 p.m. Call 214-922-1818 or visit dallasmuseumofart.org to reserve your seats today.
