If I had my druthers, every wall of my room would be covered by Heads of State posters. No, not Bush, Cheney and Tony Blair--I'm talking about THE Heads of State, the coolest illustration and design shop in the U.S. of A. Otherwise known as Jason Kernevich and Dustin Summers, The Heads of State have done design work for Southwest Airlines, Nickelodeon and Virgin Mobile as well as posters for much cooler clients like Wilco, REM and the Magnetic Fields. This Wednesday, they'll appear at the December meeting of the Dallas Society of Visual Communications, talking about their work and the process behind it, and if we're really lucky, maybe they'll throw in a story or two about Michael Stipe or Jeff Tweedy. The DSVC meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the CityPlace Conference Center, 2711 N. Haskell Ave. Tickets are $20 for non-members, $10 for students. Call 214-474-2900 or visit www.dsvc.org. --Noah W. Bailey

Every time I hear the name Tuaca I think of Fozzie Bear from The Muppet Show and his "Wokka wokka wokka" I-know-that-joke-was-cheesy-but-I'm-hamming-it-up-anyway laugh. But my favorite part of the show was when Waldorf and Statler, the old guys in the balcony, mercilessly heckled whatever was happening onstage. Anyway, this is a ridiculously loose association, but Tuaca Liqueur sponsors the Body Art Ball Sunday at 9 p.m. at Cowboys Red River, 10310 Technology Blvd. Some of the participants will probably end up looking like Muppets, so you should take your cues from Waldorf and Statler and show up just to make fun of them. Dean's List

Chances are we all love Chef Dean Fearing's work. And if we haven't been lucky enough to have a seat at The Mansion on Turtle Creek, then we all love the dishes he's prepared on his Fox 4 show Dean's Cuisine and the recipes that he so willingly shares. Now instead of searching through these recipes online or watching TiVo'd episodes of his show, we can get a little closer to the action. Fearing, named by Food & Wine magazine as one of America's top 10 young chefs, is looking to share some of his secrets and inspirations as he tapes an episode of Dean's Cuisine this Thursday. Those who don't mind paying the $125 ticket price will get to ponder a four-course meal and specially prepared wines at The Mansion on Turtle Creek, 2821 Turtle Creek Blvd. The taping starts at 6:30 p.m. Call 214-559-2100. --Kelsey Guy
