If it's not glossy, bulleted or catchy, I'm just not interested. A shortened attention span plagues me (and everyone else). In fact, I'm surprised you noticed this. The photo above must have caught your eye. It's the pictures that get you. From April 16 through May 29, 55 black-and-white and color photos will be on display from 23 local photographers, all former students of Chris Regas. As a professor of photography at Collin County Community College, Regas is considered one of the most inventive fine-art photographers living in Texas. The opening reception is Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the gallery talk, "Opening the Inner Eye" with Barbara McCandless, curator of photographic collections at the Amon Carter Museum, is Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Photographic Archives, 5117 W. Somehow we end up with the same black shirt over and over again. We're attracted to it in the store, marvel at how flattering it is, only to realize once we've taken it home that we have a dozen more just like it. Maybe the idea is to find what you like and stick with it. Like sculptor Medardo Rosso, who produced fewer than 50 primary sculptures between 1881 and 1906 and then spent 22 years recasting and revising those original pieces, creating more than 400 variations. Harry Cooper of Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University will discuss Rosso's unique techniques as part of a lecture series presented by Nasher Sculpture Center, 2001 Flora St. The lecture is free with admission. Clarice Tinsley celebrates with Savion Glover

Dance your ass off--that's our motto. And it may well be Savion Glover's motto, too. Glover is the dreadlocked, tap-dancing phenomenon whose Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk won Tonys and scads of acclaim when Glover was in his early 20s. These days, at a well-seasoned 30, he's more prevalent in commercials than the Great White Way, but on Saturday, he'll be clickety-clacking at Hotel ZaZa in honor of Clarice Tinsley, the Fox 4 anchorwoman extraordinaire. This "I Heart CT" event celebrates Tinsley's quarter-century of poise and professionalism--not to mention fine-ass hair--and will help establish a scholarship fund for St. Philip's School and Community Center in South Dallas.
