I find myself increasingly surprised each and every time I find out about some other activity or entertainment form that is relatable--or at least forced to be so--to the performance art of burlesque. From drawing to singing to literature and stand-up comedy, burlesque seems to find a way to encompass just about anything. For example, see Amour: A Burlesque Comedy, hitting the stage at the Lakewood Theater 8 p.m. Saturday with the help of emcee Justin Foster, Dallas comic and Last Comic Standing finalist. The show, set to showcase the comedic gaffes of classical burlesque, will also include appearances by touted "Queen of Burlesque" Perle Noire and St. Louis' own Lola Van Ella. Tickets are $20.
