Call us crazy, but despite gluttony being one of the seven deadly sins, we really have no problem with shoveling some seriously delicious food into our cakeholes. Especially, when the price to do so is but $20 and the samplings (offered fair-style for purchased tickets) come from more than 10 fine restaurants and nearly as many beverage distributors. Oh, and when it benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as well as the Lee Park Junior Conservancy? Yeah, we're so down with going glutton for the day. If you're with us, head to Lee Park (3333 Turtle Creek Blvd.) Friday from 6 to 11 p.m. for Taste of Uptown presented by Ben E. Keith. In addition to bites, the taste fest will also provide art and music for visual and aural entertainment. What more could you ask for? Visit tasteofuptown.org for a complete list of participants and ticket package info. The event is cash only.
Fri., Oct. 24, 6-11 p.m., 2008
