Now that the holidays are finally over, and you've gained 10 or 15 pounds, given up smoking and started smoking again, it's time to get back to what's really important: watching Japanese animation films. And there's no better place to start than with Steamboy, the 2004 flick about a boy inventor (voiced by Anna Paquin) in mid-1800s England who gets caught in a vicious battle for the "steam ball," a new invention developed by the boy's father and grandfather. Patrick Stewart also lends his voice, and, really, what could possibly make watching Japanime more satisfying than listening to Professor Xavier's smooth, refined articulation? Steamboy is this week's midnight movie at the Inwood, 5458 W. Lovers Lane, so make plans to catch it Friday or Saturday night. Call 214-764-9106 or visit landmarktheatres.com.
