It's hard to tell from the television commercials, but beyond the yard ornaments and blinking lights, the crux of the Christmas holiday hasn't changed since, well, pioneer days. Although we're dwellers in an urban landscape rather than home on the range, Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House series has long enchanted readers like us with tales of holiday seasons in the 1800s, when all you needed for a merry Christmas was family, time for relaxation and play, and maybe an orange or two in your stocking. What else does one really need, even now? Dallas Children's Theater brings the story to the stage as A Little House Christmas shows 7:30 p.m. Fridays, 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sundays through December 16 at El Centro College Performance Hall, 801 N. Main St. Admission is $14 to $23. Call 214-740-0051 or visit dct.org.
Fridays, 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 1:30 p.m.; Sundays, 1:30 & 4:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 30. Continues through Dec. 16, 2007
