If you've had a chance to catch Curb Your Enthusiasm this season, then you've probably laughed your ass off at Leon Black, the adopted houseguest/refugee played by comedian J.B. Smoove. Or perhaps you caught on to his comedic genius early, when he played Trucky in the bizarre 2001 comedy Pootie Tang (or when he was a featured guest on The Lyricist Lounge Show, The Chris Rock Show or Premium Blend). Either way, his interactions with Larry David on Curb have produced some of the funniest bits in the show's history, so he shouldn't be a relative unknown for much longer. From the scene where he coaches Larry on how to whoop some skinhead ass ("You get in that ass, Larry!") to the one where he coins the unfortunate nickname "Long Balls Larry," Leon Black is fast becoming one of Curb's most beloved characters, and considering the company Larry keeps, that's saying something. See "the President of hitting that ass" live in person this weekend when Smoove hits the stage at Hyena's Arlington, 2525 E. Arkansas Lane. Showtimes are 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday; 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 to $15. Call 817-226-5233 or visit hyenascomedynightclub.com.
