Where there's a great story, there's a journalist close by. And, sometimes, the journalist is the great story. The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL) presents a double bill with two great stories when it brings to life journalist and publisher Marcus Garvey and civil rights activist Rosa Parks. Ron Bobb-Semple first portrayed Garvey in a performance in Senegal and has continued the role to critical acclaim, while Rosa Parks is played by stage and screen actress Ella Joyce. The Spirit of Marcus Garvey and A Rose Among Thorns are at 3 p.m. Saturday on the Naomi Bruton Main Stage in the Dallas Convention Center, 650 S. Griffin St. Admission is $15.
