Photographer Carolyn Brown has explored the intersection between faith and art for years, largely by documenting the ancient sacred places of the world, from cathedrals to mosques to temples and everything in between. Dialogues: Where Iberia and the New World Meet, a new exhibit at the Afterimage Gallery, collects her photographs of religious architecture from Spain, Mexico and Portugal, showing the exquisite eye for detail and artfulness found in the craftsmanship of these holy places, which stand in stark contrast to the cookie cutter, mega-mall churches lining the highways of America today. The exhibition hangs from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays through October 26 at the Afterimage Gallery, 2800 Routh St. Suite #141. Call 214-871-9140 or visit afterimagegallery.com.
Mondays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Starts: Oct. 11. Continues through Oct. 26, 2010
