Austin artist Jules Buck Jones spent part of last year living in Florida's Everglades, sketching gators and chasing panthers through the world's most famous swamp. But instead of carefully documenting Florida's wild creatures like a member of some Darwin-era expedition, Jones let his imagination run free with the inspiration, resulting in a 98-page book full of images like "Fox Gator," which depicts a red fox, a coyote and an alligator howling at the moon and crawling out of each other's jaws like a set of avant-garde Russian nesting dolls. See for yourself as the images of Everglades hang through November 13 at the Conduit Gallery, 1626-C Hi Line Drive. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
