If you're in the mood for something festive to do that isn't as conventional as looking at Christmas lights or fighting lunatic shoppers for the last Furbee at your local Walmart, you might try checking out Deck the Halls at Old Red, at The Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture. Fourteen different local non-profit organizations have decorated a tree to celebrate their charity and the spirit of the city of Dallas and will be on display in the first floor of the museum. Each tree will have a designated donation box where visitors can donate to their favorite tree (or, um, charity) and on January 2, a "winner" will be announced in this friendly, spirited competition. It will only cost you regular museum admission to get the chance to view the holiday spectacle. For more information, visit oldred.org.
