If you are looking for interesting and innovative ways to beat the forthcoming summer heat when (not if-this is Texas after all) it rears its ugly head, look no further than the McKinney Avenue Contemporary. This art museum specializes in the exhibition of emerging and established artists whose art stands to inspire creative and dynamic conversation within the Dallas art community. Starting Saturday, the MAC will be displaying four new exhibitions set to stay on display until June 11. The exhibits will include: a selection of various works by Lloyd Brown in the lobby of the MAC, Word Queens and Necklaces by Lesley Dill, Making a Killing (curated by Charissa Terranova) by Hugo Garcia-Urrutia, and Fanfares by Oan Kim. The exhibit run will kick off on Saturday with a reception (from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.) featuring a solo musical performance by featured artist Oan Kim. The MAC is open to the public Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are accepted and encouraged.
