Indulging in your senses is good for the soul. Senses send impulses throughout your body; they fill your veins with pleasure and joy. Your fingers tingle and a sense of contentment moves from the tips of your toes to the top of your head. You smell the spices in the air, taste sweet wine on your lips, touch the painted texture on the canvas, listen to the soothing sound of the plucked guitar strings, and watch a love story unfold on screen. Yes, your senses are good for the soul and what better way to indulge in them than attending the City Arts Festival. Enjoy a weekend full of festivities including an outdoor screening of the 1961 classic Breakfast at Tiffany's, listen to the Trubone Band and enjoy cooking demos by Chef Richard Chamberlain from Chamberlain's Steak and Chophouse. Check out the Dallas Zoo's live animal show and enjoy crafts and activities from Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center and Texas Discovery Gardens. The festival takes place Friday through Sunday at Fair Park, 1300 Robert B. Cullum Blvd. Admission is free. For more information visit cityartsfestival.com.
