Do you find yourself void of Christmas cheer this year? Are you having a hard time envisioning sugar plum fairies, reindeer and Santa? The Dallas Arboretum's Holiday at the Arboretum is an event for the entire family that might be the answer to your holiday blues. From now until January 1, you'll find Frosty and Rudolph costumes characters meandering around the garden, which has been decorated with holly berries, pansies, camellias, evergreen leaves and ornamental grasses. The historic and newly renovated DeGolyer Estate is decked out in ornaments depicting hundreds of interpretations of fairy tales, and kiddies can have their photo taken with Santa. Live reindeer hanging out from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The arboretum is located at 8525 Garland Road and is open 9 a.m to 5 p.m. every day except Christmas and New Year's Day. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for those 65 and older, $8 for children ages 3-12 and free for children younger than 3. For more information, call 214-515-6500 or visit dallasarboretum.org.
