Dave Barry and Alan Zweibel are both coming to the Dallas Museum of Art. Together. And they’re splitting a cab. Or maybe they aren’t. Who can know for sure? The point is they’re coming and they’re funny and couldn’t we all use a laugh? And not just at the expense of politicians or some tragic toddler who calls everyone a “honey boo boo child.” Whaddya say we laugh with these guys just for a change of pace? They wrote a book called Lunatics, and according to the DMA, it’s “about two strangers whose lives collide in a swiftly escalating series of events that will send them running for their lives, pursued by the police, soldiers, terrorists, subversives, bears and a man dressed as Chuck E. Cheese.” Sounds a little kooky, eh? But what more would you expect from the two guys who have collectively brought us a Pulitzer prize-winning syndicated column, a subsequent sitcom about said column, Roseanne Roseannadanna and other legendary Saturday Night Live skits as well as contributed to iconic shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Monk? The show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Dave and Alan will be appearing at the Horchow Auditorium, but you won’t. Auditorium seating is sold out, but you can still purchase tickets for the live simulcast in the Atrium Café. Full price $20, Reduced $15 and Student $10.
