When an event’s attendance doubles by more than half like the Dallas Arboretum’s ArtScape has since 2009, the people have spoken, and they clearly want more. In its seventh year, the juried festival takes place each spring among the plush frondescence, featuring more than 100 local artists and artisans, showcasing work in diverse media from oil paintings to wood carvings, sculptures and handcrafted jewelry. Taking place this year on March 16 through 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., ArtScape expects more than 31,000 Dallasites to descend upon White Rock Lake in a joyous frenzy of bucolic artistic patronage. Part of the longer Dallas Blooms programming, which has been featured as one of MSNBC’s “Top Ten Things to Do In America This Spring,” the festival is free and open to the public.
