Dallas supports the arts consistently, lovingly and vibrantly. The amount of organizations that exist solely to enhance our community’s ongoing education in the poetic visual and auditory nature of the universe can rival just about any other in the country. Proof of this can be seen today when Business Council for the Arts and NorthPark Center present ArtsPark. From the Dallas Film Society to Dallas Wind Symphony, from museums and galleries to dance troupes, the park will bustle with creativity. Designed to encourage individuals and families to get involved in the arts, ArtsPark offers on-site activities -- like making projects with artists, or listening to a performance by soprano Jennifer Young -- as well as promoting future volunteer options. You might develop a new love for weaving, or appreciation of geometric art -- anything is possible when this many organizations gel in one setting. This free affair runs from noon to 4 p.m. at NorthPark Center (8687 N. Central Expressway). Visit www.northparkcenter.com.
