While it might seem that we’re buried under a haystack of feathers, beads and tassels in the bombshell bomb shelter that is Dallas, there are a few burlesque performances that manage to rise up and demand attention. Take Saturday’s unconventional twist on the art as Whiskey Tongue Burlesque and Frausun partner for Panic Cabaret. For those unfamiliar with Frausun, you’ll want to explore the duo’s dark experimental music playland immediately. For everyone else, the evening of burlesque is cornered around the German Weimar culture of the early ’20s into the ’30s — think stern faces, exceptional advances in science and the birth of modern design. Don’t think about all of that other really horrific stuff that is way less sexy. “Panic Cabaret” is best enjoyed in costume, so those attending are encouraged to dress in their black-and-white film-era best. It’s 10 bucks to get into this 9 p.m. show at Crown and Harp, 1914 Greenville Ave.
