We’ve spent the past year impatiently awaiting the arrival of the DMA’s newest art exhibition, Cindy Sherman. One of the most beloved and influential photographers of the last 50 years, Sherman is well-known for portraiture work that tackles everything from feminism and societal issues to cinema and performance, and her recognizable images have sold for millions — deservedly so. Sherman has played creator, designer, director and model in her photo projects, and the Dallas Museum of Art is playing host to a selection of work from this artistic powerhouse. The retrospective features more than 160 of Sherman’s photographs, spanning nearly four decades and coming from public and private collections across the country. Show up when the doors open at 11 a.m. Sunday; be one of the first to take pleasure in Cindy Sherman at the DMA, 1717 North Harwood St. The exhibition runs through June 9. Tickets are $16 for adults with discounts available. Call 214-922-1803 or visit dallasmuseumofart.org.
