Love him or hate him, David Lynch has produced some of film’s most discussed specimens, and his surrealist style has secured him his place in cinematic history. Eraserhead, the film that introduced the masses to Lynch’s brand of entertainment, has spent the past 30-something years working its way from being an oddball’s debut feature to a cult classic to a title in the National Film Registry, and now it has found its way to our very own Texas Theatre (231 W. Jefferson Blvd.). Lynchian dreams will come true this weekend as Pyramid Scheme Productions presents two screenings of a new 35-mm print of Eraserhead, courtesy of Janus Films. Friday night’s showing will be followed by one of Texas Theatre’s famous wig parties, so don your best duds, grab a damn fine cup of David Lynch coffee from the concession stand, and soak in the surrealism that is Eraserhead. Tickets are $9.50. Call 214-948-1546 or visit thetexastheatre.com.
