Often we view art from the business end, which puts a ticket window between ourselves and community. One day each year that balance flips as artists take performances into the most intimate spaces available: their own residences. Musician/performer/ultimate hostess Lily Taylor understands the open exchange that an address provides, which is why she’s again organizing the local chapter of the national event Home Theater Festival in her own home. On Sunday night you’re invited to join Taylor and her legion of artful misfits as they celebrate multiple performance media, salon-style. There’s experimental music by Ulnae, Martin Back and a clarinet/electronics duo, Odd Partials, as well as video projects by Belau Muluc and sound/sculpture/video art by Sean Miller, ceramics by Lindsey Bass and screen prints by Nevada Hill. The BYOB show begins at 9 p.m., with a suggested donation of $1 to $5. The home sits on Moncayo Drive in Denton, so look for the lights, or email her at [email protected] for the address.
