You look like you could use a drink. The economy, education and environmental issues have made you gloomy, but that’s no reason to drink alone. Join the conversation with like-minded (or not) politicos at this week’s Texas Tribune Festival Dallas Launch Party. The main event happens in September down in Austin, and is hosted by the Texas Tribune. That’s where you’ll find 45 events and 150 speakers discussing the current political landscape of the Lone Star State, so wet your whistle and register now, while special discount rates are still available. Celebrate your upcoming road trip and talk politics with new headline-reading friends over some vino from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Max’s Wine Dive, 3600 McKinney Ave. The event is free, though RSVP is required no later than 5 p.m. Monday. Call 512-716-8641 or visit texastribune.org.
