No need to wait until the Fourth to celebrate Independence Day because there’s plenty happening on July 3. Lone Star Park (1000 Lone Star Parkway) will be celebrating in usual style with horse racing, live music, a truck giveaway (2013 Chevrolet Silverado) and fireworks. Be warned, this 20-minute fireworks display is not your average lights show; it will be choreographed to music courtesy of KHKS-FM “KISS” 106.1. General admission is $5, and admission is free with a valid military I.D. The fireworks will close the evening of racing, which begins at 5 p.m. The city of Princeton also will be host of early festivities at its Community Park (500 West College St.). There will be bounce houses, arts, crafts, food and drinks. Of course it’s not a Fourth celebration without some country music, so the Lauren Kent Band and local up-and-comer Tim Cooper will perform. The fun starts at 5 p.m. with the fireworks show lighting up around 9:30.
