The new NYLO Dallas South Side hotel (1325 S. Lamar St.) offers two dining experiences. The Terrace Bistro and lobby bar, located on the first floor, has a chic loft vibe. The space is adorned with exposed concrete and bright jewel tones. Wooden tables and plush leather seats line the back wall, where diners can sit and munch on everything from a variety of cheeses from Scardello ($16), fried rock shrimp with avocado mousse and pistachio sauce ($10) or the bistro burger with aged cheddar, grilled onions and Madeira aioli served on challah bread ($12).
Those looking to have a drink can grab a seat at the lobby bar, which serves signature cocktails like the Belleview martini (vodka, St. Germain and white cranberry juice) and the Salty Kiss (vodka, rosemary, simple syrup and grapefruit juice), or if they'd rather, patrons can wander around the spacious lobby, shoot some pool or grab a book off one of the bookshelves and a seat in one of the suspended '60s style egg chairs.
The SODA Bar, located on the rooftop patio (sixth floor), offers a more casual dining experience.
The menu includes street tacos ($9), a hot dog served with house-made chips ($7) and something called the "Soda Spread," a choice of the Mediterranean or cheese plate served with a bottle of Jean Luc Columbo Rose ($39). The patio, like the downstairs lobby, is spacious. There is bar and lounge seating and outdoor tables that overlook the Dallas skyline. The patio also boasts an infinity pool, cabanas and Foosball tables.
