Dogs on a bun, fruit on a stick and women in hospitality - it's a week of prepositions and do-gooding in Dallas. Check out these events:

The Event: Dogs 4 Dogs

The Cause: Rockwall Shelter Pets

The Scoop: If you like dogs and don't care what kind -- big, small, purebred, mutt or slathered in mustard and relish, Thursdays are your day. The Candy Jar Malt Shop and The Platinum Pearl have joined the pack with Rockwall Pet Shelter to bring Dogs 4 Dogs, an event featuring live music and food every Thursday in March.

The Event: Mardi Gras Run at Galatyn Park Plaza

The Cause: Captain Hope's Kids

The Scoop: As participants cross the finish line on March 5, Blue Bell will be right there handing out their new Frozen Fruit Bars. It's good because running is fun and fruit is good for you. Especially if the running is for a good cause and the fruit is frozen and on a stick.
Captain Hope's Kids distributes more than 350,000 diapers to children in area homeless shelters each year.

The Event: Dames in the City
The Cause: Scholarships and support for women in food, wine and hospitality industry.

The Scoop: It's ladies (and men) celebrating ladies Sunday evening at Cityplace Conference Center for the 22nd Raiser Grazer "Dames in the City" event. Attendees will enjoy the company of big names in food, wine and hospitality, plus samples and pairings, a cork pull and a silent auction. The event is from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are available online for $50, or $60 at the door.
