The big dance may be over, but Thanksgiving lives on inside our refrigerators. Leftover turkey and sides revisit us for days after the holiday -- lingering in Tupperware, covered in foil and wrapped in plastic, until that 5-day-old turkey funk reaches out from our fridge to punch us in the nose.

The best way to get rid of leftovers in a hurry is through creative attempts to reinvent old dishes anew. The leftover sandwich (sort of pictured above) is the most common post-Thanksgiving creation, but everyone has his or her own favorite strategy for cleaning out the icebox. Here are two more from City of Ate's most devoted (to getting fat) staff.

Daniels takes it easy in the morning with a nice light breakfast before tearing into cold turkey and gelatinous gravy in the late afternoon. Leftover cranberry sauce meets cream cheese on Empire Bakery's pecan cranberry bread. I'd eat this well into December.

Our new Drunkenness Correspondent can't be bothered with leftovers in their natural states. She picks them apart and turns them into new dishes. Her savory bread pudding used a stale sourdough boule, roasted butternut squash and bacon, with sauteed onions and garlic, herbs and cheddar cheese. To get rid of turkey she whips up a simple noodle soup.

That's two votes for a delicious turkey soup encased in flaky savory crust. I wish they'd made minis and brought me one I could eat whole.

Sure it's just another form of the leftover sandwich, but calling it a slider makes it special, and heck, I could use a few more biscuits.

Karma Kitchen, the latest food truck to be shunned by the city that doesn't love fun, takes the prize for absolutely freaking me out. I'm a sucker for hash, but theirs is one leftovers idea good enough to make me crave a second lunch.
