Brooklyn-based Phosphorescent went from being an unknown indie poet scouring the globe and playing empty rooms to a critical darling almost overnight--many thanks to Willie Nelson. Matthew Houck, the man behind the moniker, made the risky decision to do an album of Nelson covers last year, called To Willie, which resulted in both critical and commercial success.
Now, Houck is planning a tour in support of his sixth record, Here's To Taking It Easy, and he'll serve perhaps as the biggest act to yet play Oak Cliff's recently re-opened Kessler Theater when he comes through town on Friday, July 23.
Tickets will be available on Friday, May 15 14 at Frontgatetickets.com. Or if you want to skip the processing fees, you can pick up tickets at Good Records.
But if you're still stuck on the British Invasion of the early aughts, Keane and Travis' lead singer, Fran Healy, are stopping by the House of Blues on Monday, July 26.
More show announcements piled high and deep after the jump.
