Calhoun, whose latest disc, Falter.Waver.Cultivate., I really enjoyed (along with plenty of other folks, if the "Press" section on the band's Myspace page is, indeed, accurate), shows up on Paste magazine's monthly compilation disc for the month of November--and with good placement, too: "Breathe," the opening track from Falter.Waver.Cultivate., shows up as the sixth track on the compilation, which also features acts like Of Montreal, The Dears, Jolie Holland, The Little Ones, O'Death and Horse Feathers.

And it was a fairly simple process, getting on the disc, explains Tim Locke, the band's frontman and primary songwriter: "I believe our publicist sent them a package. [Then] they emailed me and said they really loved 'Breathe.' So that was that."

Yep, simple enough. Listen to "Breathe" on the band's Myspace page to check it out. And for more Calhoun, check out a couple other songs--"Drifting" and "Apocalypse (A Love Story)", both from Falter.Waver.Cultivate.--that the band has generously provided DC9 readers in the past. --Pete Freedman
