Last weekend was a little dead, y'know with Christmas and all, but this weekend is the opposite. In fact, there are so many New Year's Eve events worth checking out that we've got a separate massive list here.
The biggest one, though, is easily the Dallas Observer-sponsored Lights All Night festival on Friday and Saturday night at the Dallas Convention Center. Diplo, Neon Indian, Ghostland Observatory, Girl Talk and more will perform the electronic music festival.
But if cutting loose on a dance floor wasn't one of your New Year's resolutions in 2011, there are plenty of other options for you, starting with ones we've already mentioned this week.
Tonight, Hayes Carll will be at Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth, and Discipline celebrates its first anniversary at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios. Also, Robert Earl Keen will be at House of Blues.
On Friday, Seryn, Doug Burr and David Ramirez will be at the Kessler Theater.
On Saturday, Catch Astronautalis, GalleryCat and The Rich Girls at Dada, Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, Ishi and Kirby Brown at the Granada Theater, The Polyphonic Spree, Centro-Matic and Deathray Davies at House Of Blues, Quintron & Miss Pussycat at Zubar, and Mind Spiders and Leg Sweeper at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios.
On Sunday, Mustard Seed with Phillip Todd Brewer will be at Balcony Club.

The Common Table isn't known for their shows. Rather, the selection of really good beer is the bigger draw, but People On Vacation, which features Smile Smile's Ryan Hamilton and Bowling For Soup's Jaret Reddick, should have the place packed tonight. Go for the band, stay for the beer.

R&B star Joe's moment in the spotlight may have already come and gone, but since 2008, the singer has been successfully releasing music independently. And as we saw from the Wilco show at Fair Park Music Hall a few months ago, it's an amazing place to see a show.

This is Bugs Henderson's first show in town since he announced that he has been diagnosed with cancer. Expect it to be emotional and fun, as the legendary Dallas blues man rings in 2012 at Poor David's Pub.
