It might be difficult to believe this, but there is an entire generation of adults who have not necessarily seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Sour Grapes Crew Known collectively as Sour Grapes, the work of Oak Cliff artists Arturo Donjuan, Carlos Donjuan, and Miguel Donjuan takes over Kettle Art Art Gallery this weekend. September Surrender When you read "opening ceremonies attire" on the September Surrender event description, think latex. Latex, whips, dog collars, and anything else that you'd find in the kink section of your favorite sex shop. If you're not part of that community, it will be unlike any party you've ever attended. This four-day event is part convention, but it's mostly a giant party for the sexually experimental or anyone who's just a little bit curious. Most of the event takes place at the The Night Hotel (2645 Lyndon B. Johnson Fwy), although some events will be held at nightclubs including The Lizard Lounge (2424 Swiss Ave.). Inaugural Exhibition at Cydonia The first show at the Design District's newest gallery invites nine artists from across the world to focus on the topic of manhood. Confetti Eddie's Magic and Burlesque Show Confetti Eddie is back with more magic this weekend. 4th Annual Dallas Pride Performing Arts Festival Uptown Players' Pride Festival kicks off at 8 p.m. Friday. The first show in the line-up is The Last Session, which is a musical about a pop star battling AIDS. The nine-day festival is an arrangement of staged readings and fully produced plays that explore topics related to the gay experience. Rewind The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra's new composer-in-residence Anna Clyne presents her work rewind, which was "inspired by the image of analog video tape rapidly scrolling backwards with fleeting moments of skipping, freezing, and warping." Saturday, September 13 The Architecture and Design of Heatherwick Studio If you have a romantic vision of what life as an architect would be like, you can live vicariously through the work of British designer Thomas Heatherwick at the Nasher Sculpture Center this fall when the space gives his impressive oeuvre its first North American exhibition. Get to know both the work and the creative process in what promises to be an insightful peek into the man whom The New Yorker once called, "the next Leonardo da Vinci." René Treviño at Erin Cluley Gallery One of the newest galleries on the scene -and certainly the most hyped - is Erin Cluley's eponymous space that opens this month in Trinity Groves. The inaugural show in the space is native Texan and Baltimore-based René Treviño's Estrellas. His work includes paintings and sculptural installations, with an interest in heroism. Bruce Wood's Lovett + More You will love to love the Bruce Wood Dance Project after this weekend's show of some of the company's most popular dances. Sunday, September 14 Isa Genzken: Retrospective When it was at the MoMA, this exhibition twisted and turned throughout numerous galleries, each more fascinating than the last. Genzken is an impressive artist. You'll see work you recognize - even if you don't know her name - and I'm betting this display will be just as magical in Dallas as it was in New York City. See it early, because this exhibition will get crowded in its later days. Admission to this exhibition is free and will be open through January 5, 2015.
