Mike Modano: The Face of the Franchise

He is now - and perhaps forever - undoubtedbly, undeniably, unequivocally the face of the franchise. Right? Unless, of course, you want that honor to go to Tom Hicks.

Got me to thinking abour our other teams. Who's the all-time face of the franchise for the Cowboys, Rangers and Mavericks?

Not necessarily the best player or winningest coach or most decorated employee or employer, but the person that you first think of when that team is mentioned. Word association, if you will.

Mavericks - Dirk Nowitzki.

I think this is a no-brainer. Maybe Mark Cuban?

Rangers - Nolan Ryan.

Didn't play for Texas that long but he is, after all, the real Big Tex. Maybe Pudge Rodriguez? Michael Young?

Cowboys - Roger Staubach.

This one ain't so simple. Maybe Tom Landry? Bob Lilly? Emmitt Smith? Troy Aikman? Jerry Jones?
