Whilst cruising the local blogscape this afternoon, I came across fuzzbuzz's announcement that she was gonna have a couple of pieces hanging in the Dallas Museum of Art beginning Friday, as part of its "Insider Art" show. Who's "fuzzbuzz"? Well, she notes, "I play bass guitar and sing in my band The Shapes." The Shapes? I love The Shapes. Oh, so that's Patricia Rodriguez, then. Who, turns out, sells her boxes -- hey now -- on Etsy, where she goes by the moniker Tiger Bee. Which reminds me, been meaning to scout out some local shoppes on Etsy for a few things I need to buy. And, hey, lookie there, baby bloomers by Three Yellow Starfish, how cute. But, like, speaking of local art, why, just today Brian Gibb from Art Prostitute and The Public Trust e-mailed with a reminder that the Commerce Street gallery was holding its two-day Paper Jam print sale starting Friday, with deep discounts on original signed prints from more than a dozen artists. Oh, and speaking of sales -- and who isn't during an economic downturn, even one you're only imagining in your mind -- the Dallas Mavericks send word of a "Summer Warehouse Sale" on Saturday from 9 a.m to 6 p.m. at the American Airlines Center, where "hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys, jackets and warm-ups" will be up for grabs from 50 to 80 percent off the wholesale price, gee whiz.
