So says Intuit, maker of Turbo Tax, which this morning released a list of "this year's biggest tax procrastinators." For the second year in a row, Dallas comes in at No. 9 on the wait list -- which, incidentally, is topped by Houston, so there. And Austin comes in at No. 4, after placing 11th last year.
Intuit doesn't offer a specific reason for Dallas once more taking a Top 10 slot. But its press release does mention the second-year-running ranking comes "after years of [Dallas] staying ahead of the late tax filing game." And, if I read my Wall Street Journal correctly, the Turbo Tax veep is saying states not on the list probably have fewer people filing tax returns due to, among other reasons, high unemployment -- or they're filing their returns ahead of schedule so they can get their refunds post-haste.
