Say it ain't so: KTVT-Channel 11's Sarah Dodd is no longer KTVT-Channel 11's Sarah Dodd. Unfair Park just received a copy of the memo Channel 11's president and general manager Steve Mauldin sent to the staff today, and he celebrates Dodd's myriad achievements at the CBS affiliate without offering a reason why she decided to ditch her gig after seven good years. We have an idea, of course.
But when reached for comment today, Mrs. Kunkle says, "You will never hear me disparage Channel 11, because I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunities I've had there, especially at a local station. In addition to anchoring on the weekends, I also had many fill-in anchoring opportunities, including co-anchoring the 10 o'clock news with Tracy Rowlett, who I grew up watching and who's a local icon. And Dallas being my hometown, this was my dream, so I am very thankful for the opportunity I had there and was just ready to move on."
Dodd -- who won an Edward R. Murrow Award in April 2006 for her coverage of the FBI's City Hall investigation -- says she 's not sure if she'll stay in the TV business. "I have a lot of opportunities I am excited about," she says, "and I am in a fortunate position that I can think about them and decide exactly what I want to do." Till then, then. The memo's after the jump. --Robert Wilonsky

Subject: Sarah Dodd
As many of you know, Sarah Dodd resigned from the Station effective July 14, 2007.
Sarah has been a valuable contributor to CBS 11 for the past 7 years. She has been around the world covering important news for the station, including spending a month in Iraq covering the beginning of the war. Sarah has broken some of the biggest and most memorable stories at Dallas City Hall, and in 2006 won an Edward R. Murrow award for her work.
She has earned multiple EMMY nominations, and on Sarah's last day reporting at CBS 11, she continued her tradition of excellence by leading the 6 o'clock news with an exclusive. On Sunday, July 8th, Sarah anchored her final morning show on CBS 11 and with co-anchor Joel Thomas and meteorologist Jeff Jamison, the show finished number 1. We wish Sarah good luck in her future endeavors.
