Kinky Friedman, Texas Jewboy and former gubernatorial candidate, is about to have himself a new book in stores: You Can Lead a Politician to Water, But You Can't Make Him Think: Ten Commandments for Texas Politics, and how do they fit all them words on one book cover anyway? Yesterday, Kinky's publicist shot us a note to pimp the book, a promotional tour for which brings him to Dallas October 16. And contained within the release was a list of topics of interest to discuss with the Kinkster. Chief among them:
Why he may run again -- as a democrat. (One of his platforms will be to abolish the death penalty in Texas). Now, that may just be a publicity stunt to spur interest in a new book. Then again, that's what folks said last time, and he garnered about 13 percent of the vote. There's plenty of time left for him to change his mind or to have someone talk him out of it. But Kinky's stubborn enough to do it again, regardless. --Robert Wilonsky
