Ryan Ball didn't know that porn legend Jenna Jameson was having her birthday party at Le Vu on Friday night, or so he claims in his recap of the night on Reddit. He and a pair of friends just wanted to have a couple of drinks and settled on the brand-new Pacific Street club for reasons not at all connected to the adult entertainment industry.

Ball would have done better to get drunk somewhere else. He woke up the next morning in the emergency room at Baylor with, according to his Reddit post, a severe concussion; a dozen or so stitches; a fractured forehead and sinus cavity; an air bubble pressing against his brain that may or may not have been contaminated by bacteria from the fractured sinus cavity; a broken nose; a caved-in left cheek; and short-term memory loss. He remembers nothing after ordering the first round of drinks, a side effect of alcohol mixed with a grade 3 concussion.

Ball has managed to piece together Friday night's events with the help of friends and police. The two friends told him they had left at 1:30 a.m. but that he had insisted on staying until closing time, presumably to talk to a girl. A Dallas PD detective came by his hospital room Saturday and told him witnesses had spotted him outside the bar, probably waiting for a cab, when he got into an argument with two men parked in a brand-new 2013 BMW 535.

"The two suspects just hit him in the face and kicked him in the face and then left," says DPD spokeswoman Sherri Jeffrey.

Ball was still in the hospital when he took to Reddit in search of anyone who might have seen the beating. He doesn't seem to have had any luck on that front, though there's been plenty of sympathy and stories of similar attacks and tips that he should try getting reimbursed through the state's crime victim compensation program. It looks like he'll need the help.

"I am meeting with a plastic surgeon tomorrow to assess the damage [Monday], but I definitely need reconstructive surgery," he writes. "I have to pay for surgery, the ambulance ride, and 3 days (so far) in the hospital. I need help to find these people who did this, any information would be greatly appreciated."

Updated at 1:56 p.m.: Ball called on his way to meet with the plastic surgeon. "It's pretty bad, but I got really lucky there wasn't any brain damage," he said. "My vision appears to be getting back to normal, and I don't think my teeth are messed up." It's hard to tell, though, because of the swelling.

He's not yet sure how long it will take for him to get back to normal. He'll have a better idea after meeting with the surgeon but "I'm certainly not going to be working out anytime soon, I don't think."

The response from his fellow Redditors has been a big help. "I wasn't looking for them to solve the crime, I was just looking to see if someone saw something." One person who responded has a friend who works as a bouncer at the club and may have seen something, and Ball is confident there are enough witnesses and evidence to catch his attackers.
