Tom Kemper
Tom Kemper, founder of Dolphin Blue and chair of the Sustainable Dallas board, gets quite the national shout-out in the latest issue of Entrepreneur. The piece celebrates his decision in 1994 to troll the local landfills -- with 350 50-gallon garbage bags -- for recyclables, which no one wanted. Thus was born his "environmentally responsible office supplies" company on Abrams Parkway, which grew around the time Kemper decided to get himself some government contracts. And it's a growth business -- as in, 20 percent each year, a nice pile of green. --Robert Wilonsky
