You may have read about how firefighters discovered several dozen marijuana plants inside a burning house at the corner of Peavy Road and Carnegie Drive in East Dallas on Sunday. Crazy, right? Well, what you may not have realized is that, after the fire, a team from the Observer discovered an antique film reel abandoned in the grass next to some charred mannequin legs (???). The film reel, which we converted to digital format for ease of web publication, contains previously unreleased archival footage of Dallas Fire-Rescue and the Dallas Police Department's response to the fire.

The only other possible explanation — that someone at the Observer spent way too much time on iMovie playing with several hundred pictures taken at the scene by photographer/gadfly Avi Adelman — is simply too far-fetched to be credible.
