The Door (Dallas)

The Door (Dallas)

The Door first opened the doors of its Deep Ellum all-ages location back in May 1998, and it's been a popular place for young music fans to get their rocks off to the popular touring and local acts of every genre.
Plush (Dallas)

Plush (Dallas)

With its upstairs VIP area, bottle service, smoking-hot dancers and bass-heavy sound system, this ultra lounge is one of the hottest in Dallas.
The Wild Turkey

The Wild Turkey

Since 1978, The Wild Turkey has been the site of much gobbling - of food, that is -- in a rustic setting, reminiscent of a honky-tonk and sports bar combo.

    The Old Crow

1911 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75206-7438

Utterly unremarkable and unpretentious, The Old Crow is the perfect spot on Lower Greenville if you just want to have a few cheap beers, watch a game and maybe shoot a round of stick or throw some darts. From the plywood floor to the Pabst Blue Ribbon and Busch Light to the random assortment of yard-sale decorations, this dive is perfectly un-Dallas. Read more about The Old Crow >>

  • The Old Monk

    The Old Monk

2847 Henderson Ave. Dallas, TX 75206
214-821-1880 Just on the basis of suds alone, this English-style pub chugs up high marks with brews from 10 countries including three varieties of Chimay, the heady Belgian beer brewed by Trappist Monks. But Old Monk has other charms, too, from its dark wood paneling fashioned from confessional booths to its bar tables rendered from old barrels. Plus, it has decent bar fodder, including Belgian-style steamed mussels, cheese boards, frites and a German sausage plate. Go for the head, but stay for the belly. Check out the new seasonal beer. • Old School Music Grill

    Old School Music Grill

9220 Skillman St. Dallas, TX 75243

Wedged in a crowded strip mall off Skillman Street is Old School Music Grill, a bar that's got soul in both its music and appetizers. Once you get through the mandatory security check and pat-down at the front, you're greeted by a spacious dance floor and large cash-only bar. The selection is limited on the cocktail front, but what it lacks in liquor it makes up for in atmosphere. Old Motown hits and soulful jams play in rotation with Top 40 tunes that summon crowds of men and women to the dance floor for all-out dance-offs. Resident DJs pick up the mood during the week, spinning a variety of hip-hop and R&B. If you're feeling like a wallflower, head to the back where three pool tables and a large, fenced-in patio reside. Read more about Old School Music Grill >>

  • Oscar

    Oscar's Pub

6323 Camp Bowie Blvd. Fort Worth, TX 76116

Oscar's is a neighborhood bar among the Camp Bowie watering holes that cater to sports fans and college kids. "I know 80 percent of the people that come in here," the woman working the wooden bar said on a recent visit. The long and narrow space is lit warmly, with the bar on one side of the room across from a few sparse tables and chairs. The red ceramic tiles on the floor give the place a homey feel. The same goes for the customers inside, who all seem to know each other as they discuss the Rangers game on the bar's overhead flat-screen. Read more about Oscar's Pub >>

  • Oui Lounge

    Oui Lounge

3509 Blue Bonnet Circle Fort Worth, TX 76109

People hang out at Oui Lounge because their parents did, and their parents before them. The bartenders boast a better pour and better prices than any bar in the area, and it's worked for them since 1952. No gimmicks and proud of their tradition, it's a wood-paneled hideaway with two pool tables, three rooms separated by low dividers and a bar stocked with longtime regulars. There's free popcorn, a jukebox and plenty of space to push the low tables together for big groups. To get to know the locals, it's a good idea to show up early on weekends before the college kids pour in. Read more about Oui Lounge >>

  • The Owners Box

    The Owners Box

    555 S. Lamar St. Dallas, TX 75202

It’s not hard to find The Owners Box in Dallas’ Omni Convention Center Hotel. Just look for the giant neon building on the downtown Dallas skyline – then quickly, for your retinas’ sake, look away. The interior of The Owner's Box, the bar located on the ground floor, isn’t much different as far as sensory overload is concerned. There are no walls, only televisions stacked one upon another. Patrons try to focus on just one sporting event while eating and drinking from a menu of conventional bar food and drinks. It’s best just to sit back on the jumbo-sized seats and try to take the whole thing in. Read more about The Owners Box >>

  • Ozona Grill & Bar

    Ozona Grill & Bar

4615 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75206
214-265-9105 Ozona Bar and Grill is named after the tiny, unincorporated West Texas town of Ozona. A town that happens to be the one-and-only town in all of the vast expanse that is Crockett County, and whose motto happens to be "The Biggest Little Town in the World." So Ozona's a fitting name for a bar and grill with "The Biggest Little Award-winning Patio In Dallas." With trees, vegetation and fencing separating the multi-level patio from Greenville Avenue, it's no wonder that the place is a popular happy hours (and beyond) spot for such a great cross-section of Dallas. Naturally, the patio's typically hoppin' in the summer months. The menu offers everything from Tex Mex to steaks to burgers and chicken-fried steak. Read more about Ozona Grill & Bar >>

  • Ozzie Rabbit Lounge

    Ozzie Rabbit Lounge

6463 E. Lancaster Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76112
817-446-9010 Hopeful regulars chant the name of their favorite drinks as a wheel labeled with specials spins to a halt, selecting a new beer or shot special every half hour. With a corrugated metal ceiling and desert motif, complete with stuffed ram heads, The Rabbit exudes a young, cowboy rockabilly vibe mixed with a smattering of JFK. That's because Lee Harvey Oswald resides in a cemetery nearby, and the bar took its name from Oswald's call sign in the Army, "Ozzie Rabbit." The bar features a rolling happy hour and a great jukebox, a huge back patio and a smokes-and-snacks vending machine. Good for a cheap laugh, the bathrooms are labeled as cocks and beavers. If you want hip-hop and reggae - and you do, even if you don't think so - look no further. Also, check out talent showcase Sundays. Read more about Palm Beach Club >>
