  • Addison Improv Comedy Club

    Addison Improv Comedy Club

4980 Belt Line Road Addison, TX 75001
    972-404-8501

http://www.improv.com The premier comedy club of the Dallas area, the Addison Improv brings in national comedians, local comics and comedy troupes alike. The dining room setup gives an intimate vibe to the place. During a show in 2009, comic Richard Lewis, claiming to have co-founded the comedy club chain, nearly wiggled loose one of the metal letters from the word "Improv" behind the stage while mocking how cheap he thought the club looked. Cheap or not, where else are you going to witness moments like that? Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Andiamo Italian Bar & Grill

    Andiamo Italian Bar & Grill

4151 Belt line Road Addison, TX 75001
    972-233-1515

http://www.andiamogrill.com For more than two decades, this Addison restaurant has been getting saucy (and romantic) with its brand of moderately upscale Italian cuisine. Begin the meal with a plate of bruschetta and move on to Conghiglie al Forno (clams baked with herbs, pecorino and garlic butter) before digging in to any number of pasta, veal or chicken dishes. Some options, like the Capellini Basilico (angel hair pasta with fresh tomato sauce and basil) are light. Others, like Tortellini Bolognese, are substantial. Signature items include many dishes involving the restaurant's name, among them Sole Andiamo and Veal Andiamo. After eating all that and ordering from the healthy wine list, it's doubtful anyone will be able to go anywhere, even if Andiamo means "let's go" in Italian. • Blackfinn Restaurant & Saloon

    Blackfinn Restaurant & Saloon

4440 Belt Line Road Addison, TX 75001-4513
    469-374-7667

http://www.blackfinndallas.com Located in the heart of Addison's "Restaurant Row" on Belt Line, BlackFinn American Saloon is surrounded by a number of similar pub-n-grub-style establishments, but as one manager points out, "Our patio really sets us apart." The spacious patio and deck area has its own bar, several palm trees and plenty of outdoor tables and chairs, with umbrellas for shade. At happy hour, the patio fills up fast, but patrons can call ahead to reserve a table. Inside, BlackFinn looks the part of a pub - the decor's all warm hues and rich woods, with a huge central wraparound bar bearing a few name plaques for regulars. BlackFinn has an upscale J. Blacks-like feel, only with more TVs. Flatscreens are built into the wall of each booth. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Blue Goose Cantina

    Blue Goose Cantina

14920 Midway Road Addison, TX 75001-4907
    972-726-8771

http://www.bluegoosecantina.com Fajitas, tamales, enchiladas -- the trifecta of Tex-Mex cookery -- are the specialties at Blue Goose, matched only by the much-lauded (and guzzled) margaritas. From the original Greenville Avenue location to the locations scattered around the Dallas area, the Tex-Mex restaurant's slogan holds true everywhere. It's "Where Every Day is a Fiesta," with its all-the-colors-of-the-rainbow paint scheme and neon lighting. The signature Goose Eggs app is a plate of jalapeños stuffed with chicken and cheese with the house Durango sauce on the side. Along with the aforementioned Tex-Mex standards are signature items like the Chimichanga a la Blue Goose, Pollo a la Chipotle and twin chiles rellenos. A table with all that food on it is definitely for a party. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Chili

    Chili's

4500 Belt Line Road Addison, TX 75001-4515
    972-233-0380

http://www.chilis.com Originating in Dallas in 1975 as a casual sit-down restaurant stuffed to the brim with Southwestern tchotchkes, Chili's has since grown into a behemoth chain owned by culinary conglomerate Brinker, with more than 1,400 locations in more than thirty countries. Sadly, the Awesome Blossom is no more, but menu staples like Chicken Crispers, Southwestern Egg Rolls and those infamous baby back ribs--which may or may not cause you to spontaneously burst into song--are still going strong. Every location including Dallas / Fort Worth features a fully stocked bar, and, as would seem fitting for a Southwestern-themed chain, Chili's specializes in margaritas, from top-shelf to sparkly fruit-flavored incarnations. In recent years the chain has continued its worldwide domination with more minimalist, modern decor and promos like the "$20 Dinner for Two." Voice Places is the place to find a Chili's near you. • Ferrari

    Ferrari's Italian Villa

14831 Midway Road Addison, TX 75001
    972-980-9898

http://www.ferrarisrestaurant.com Owner Francesco Secchi is from Sardinia and has additional island experience from stints with the Royal Caribbean and Royal Viking cruise lines, so he's developed solid creature-of-the-sea expertise. Try the scampi alle fiamme (jumbo shrimp in garlic, olive oil, pinot grigio and brandy served with linguini and flambéed at your table) or the risotto with camberi and calamari (arborio rice with fresh calamari, shrimp, spinach, onions, garlic, black olives and tomatoes). You might meet Francesco if you order the crepe suzette, as he sometimes prepares this sweet, flambéed dessert while chatting with customers at their tables. • Firefly

    Firefly

14905 Midway Road Addison, TX 75001-4957
    972-788-9210

http://www.fireflyaddison.com This pan-Asian restaurant takes the tapas craze and runs with it. Small plates, appetizers and hors d'oeuvres don't go by those terms, but rather are renamed tapas. A small bowl of pho is a hot tapa. The tuna tower is a cold tapa. The signature Firefly Rolls (grilled pork, mango, mixed greens, mint, vermicelli and peanuts with a jalapeño vinaigrette) are spring rolls tapas. Some tapas options have more substantial brethren. A bowl of udon is one of them. But that is not what draws people to Firefly. It's all about the happy hour and all-you-can-eat sushi specials. These offerings are cheap and allow for marathon eating. The lunch sushi deal is a mere $10.95. The dinner price sees an increase of $12. Happy-hour drink deals start at $1.75. All the menus are severely limited, but your pocketbook doesn't have to be. • The Hub Sports Bar & Grill

  • Humperdink

    Humperdink's Addison

3820 Belt Line Road Addison, TX 75001
    972-484-3051

http://www.humperdinks.com If you find generic bro-bars slightly depressing, Humperdink's may not be for you. Sports bars can be hit-or-miss, but chain sports bars inevitably seem to have a manufactured enthusiasm, as if they're all designed from a blueprint with blank areas that say "Install local sports team banner here." Of course, none of that matters after a few beers. And that's what sets Humperdink's apart--not only is it an all-purpose bar offering food, karaoke and big-screen televisions, but each location also boasts its own brewery, plus a small but well thought-out selection of other craft beers. In fact, the beer is good enough that you may want to get one of the 100-oz. "Beer Towers," a man-sized glass tube with a spigot at the bottom that requires a minimum of three people to order. The beer and the friends may be needed if you're going to brave the karaoke stage. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Lion & Crown Pub

    Lion & Crown Pub

5001 Addison Circle Addison, TX 75001
    972-503-5001

http://www.lionandcrown.com Addison seems to have its fair share of pubs. Within a square mile you can find The Flying Saucer, The Mucky Duck and Social House. But the bar that out-pubs them all is Lion & Crown, located on the Addison Circle. The sheer amount of British memorabilia and décor on the bar's wooden walls give the place a legit UK vibe, minus the incessant rain and cool accents. The bar features a wide variety of popular imported beers and Irish whiskies. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • The Mucky Duck

    The Mucky Duck

5064 Addison Circle Addison, TX 75001
    972-233-9362

http://www.thrillist.com/links/226999/aHR0cDovL3d3dy50aGVtdWNreWR1Y2tiYXIuY29tLw%3D%3D/direct The layout of Addison's Mucky Duck, much like its name, is whimsical and a little difficult to define. The brick walls give the place an urban feel, while the old wooden door and the wood bar make it feel a bit like a pub. But the brightly colored tile located all over the bar's interior and on the door turn The Mucky Duck into a funhouse for grownups. The adults who have the most fun at The Mucky Duck are those with a taste for imported and craft beers, as the bar carries more than 30 of them. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • The Quarter Bar and Grill

    The Quarter Bar and Grill

15201 Addison Road Addison, TX 75001
    972-788-1919

http://www.thequarter.biz The Quarter Bar & Grill, not to be mistaken with The Quarter Bar in Uptown, is a casual and smoky Addison hotspot with a menu that goes beyond the usual bar food, despite the "Burgers, Ribs, Pizza" sign out front. Regulars come back for popular items like char-grilled oysters, po' boys and build-your-own pizzas until 1:30 a.m. Specials include half-price pizza after 11 p.m. and daily $3 drink specials that include Crown Royal and Skye Vodka -- more than the usual-suspect specials poured from well bottles. Expect large crowds on game nights and on popular karaoke nights (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday). Luckily, when the main bar is packed, the patio bar usually offers a quieter, cozier experience. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Zen Restaurant Bar Lounge

    Zen Restaurant Bar Lounge

5064 Addison Circle Addison, TX 75001
    972-233-9362

http://www.fastonegraphics.com/zenaddison/zenac_index.html Opened in 2000, Zen Bar Addison Circle has become a popular hangout for folks who live in the many apartments nearby. (Zen has a golf cart for take-out deliveries to those who don't want to leave home to get dishes such as Jamaican jerk chicken and pineapple rice or chicken-lime tacos.) Inside, the vibe's appropriately Zen-like with candles and paper lanterns providing a warm, inviting glow in the dark, smoky dining and bar areas. Out back has an open-air patio for non-smokers. With plenty of HDTVs, expect large crowds on game nights. Evenings Thursday through Saturday, DJs liven up the dance floor. Zen encourages regulars to join its Facebook page to keep abreast of trivia nights, theme parties, pub crawls, drink specials and "resident appreciation parties."
