Ten Bells Tavern

Ten Bells Tavern

Ten Bells Tavern may be the perfect neighborhood pub. They pour solid pints of beer, serve great bar food and have an unassuming patio where you can drink to the setting sun.
It'll Do Club

It'll Do Club

Since it's opening in winter 2012, It'll Do has become East Dallas' go-to dance club. It's large interior and spacious dance floor are big enough to hold a candle to even the best and largest Dallas night clubs.
Lola's Saloon

Lola's Saloon

Since 2008, Lola's Saloon has been one of the top venues in North Texas, arguably the best in Fort Worth. Each week, local and national acts shuffle through the bar, which, perhaps thanks to the name, has a looser, more comfortable feel than others.

  • Aloft Las Colinas

    Aloft Las Colinas

122 E. John Carpenter Freeway Irving, TX 75062
    972-717-6100

http://www.aloftlascolinas.com/ The makers of the giant W Hotel had the idea to make Aloft, a smaller boutique-style hotel with the jet-setter crowd in mind. Judging by the look of the place, they spared no expense-and that includes their WXYZ bar. Typically, hotel bars are dark, generic nooks in the lobby, but at Aloft, the bar is the lobby. Giant bay windows light large modern couches, and birch wood lines the corners of the bar as well as the ceiling. At night, the windows reflect the beautiful people gathered around the bar's fireplace, located in the center of the room. Aloft combines luxury and simplicity, making the WXYZ bar both modern and comfortable. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Boston

    Boston's Gourmet Pizza

1100 Market Place Blvd. Irving, TX 75063
    972-869-2210

http://www.bostonsgourmet.com Boston's Gourmet Pizza specializes in a wide variety of pizza concoctions, but this Irving restaurant is much more popular for the cold drinks that accompany its deep-dish fare. On a recent visit, the dining room was sparsely filled, while the separate bar room was packed to the gills for a Dallas Mavericks game, which could be seen on the flatscreens plastered across every wall. The pizza chain seems to have embraced its sports bar popularity, making sure that every seat offers a clear view of a nearby television. When the dining room shuts down, the bar continues to serve a selection of pub grub items ranging from wings to, of course, pizza. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Bucks Bar

    1241 W. Mockingbird Lane Dallas, TX 75247-4901

  • The Cellar Restaurant & Bar

    The Cellar Restaurant & Bar

220 E. Las Colinas Blvd. Irving, TX 75039
    214-772-6438

http://www.thecellar220.com Quietly, over the Super Bowl weekend, The Cellar Restaurant & Bar opened in the space that had been previously occupied by Texas Bar & Grill. But instead of keeping with the previous bar's wood-grain Americana style, The Cellar has renovated the space with a sleeker look. Aimed squarely at the Las Colinas dweller who wants to go to a proper club without driving to downtown, the bar's long, cavernous space is filled with all the staples of area ultra-lounges. Neon lights, sleek stone floor, shiny marble bar and a strict non-smoking policy keep the place in step with Dallas hotspots. If the non-smoking policy is a deal breaker, there's plenty of room to light up on the patio, which sits right next to the Las Colinas canal. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Champps Americana

    Champps Americana

855 W. John Carpenter Freeway Irving, TX 75039
    972-373-0333

http://www.champps.com Champps, located in Irving's Las Colinas business district, is the closest thing you'll find to a neighborhood bar in the West Dallas suburb. The bar has a well-worn atmosphere, but the glossy menus, complete with photographs, keep it on par with Chili's. The place is huge, with high ceilings and projection screens that stretch all the way to the top. Games from multiple cities are on at all times, probably because of the bar's proximity to DFW Airport and several nearby hotels. In addition to its impressive drink list, the food menu has more than just pub grub, including everything from a New York strip to wings. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Cool River Cafe

    Cool River Cafe

1045 Hidden Ridge Road Irving, TX 75038
    972-871-8881

http://www.coolrivercafe.com Las Colinas is known as a part of town where business happens. Top executives from all over the country travel to this section of North Irving to buy, sell, merge and do all sorts of other businessy things. And when the day is done, many of these tycoons can be found seated at the richly appointed wood bar at Cool River Cafe. But you don't have to be fluent in business jargon to earn a seat at the bar. Folks from the surrounding North MacArthur neighborhoods fill Cool River Cafe as well, drawn to its wide selection of beers and delicious food. A massive screen lines a far wall, eliminating any trace of a bad seat in the house, and the scotch and cognac menu invites you to flex your wallet muscles, no matter how big or small. • El Barrio Bar

    El Barrio Bar

    5904 N. MacArthur Blvd. Irving, TX 75063
    972-401-2691

http://www.mcrowd.com/tacodiner.shtm When the M Crowd Restaurant Group decided to add another Taco Diner location in Irving, they wanted to do something different. Doing so led to the installation of El Barrio Bar, a tequila room, which was a welcome addition to the popular restaurant chain and the Irving bar scene. But much like drinking tequila, there are limitations: El Barrio Bar is only open on Thursday and Friday evenings. The rest of the time, it's used as a banquet room for private parties. So if you have a hankering for one of El Barrio Bar's signature margaritas or mambo taxis, better check your calendar first. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Grand Sports Bar

    Grand Sports Bar

    530 W. LBJ Freeway Irving, TX 75063
    972-830-9877

http://www.grandsportsbar.com/ruby/index2.php#/home/ The most popular menu item at Irving's Grand Sports Bar is the pizza, which is ironic because the bar is part of an Asian restaurant. But the irony doesn't stop there. The biggest draw at Grand Sports Bar isn't sports; it's karaoke on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. In fact, it's so popular that the wait can be as long as two hours on weekends. The emphasis on karaoke doesn't mean that you won't be able to catch a game at Grand, though. The flatscreen TVs scattered around the walls of the dimly lit room ensure that every seat is a good one. But if your team is losing, you can shoot a game of pool. • Hooters

    Hooters

2522 N. Belt Line Road Irving, TX 75062-5243
    972-255-6629

http://www.hooterstexas.com Home of the double entendre, the Hooters chain has become an American icon over the course of its short life. Founded in Florida during the glorious 1980s, the company with a hooting owl for a logo boasts its own magazine, a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, and famous alumni like Hugh Hefner's former girlfriend Holly Madison. The Hooters girls at each of the 450 locations are the heart and soul (or is it the "T and A"?) of the company; from the American Midwest to the Czech Republic to Tokyo, every girl sports the same bright orange short-shorts, flesh-colored pantyhose and white sneakers. Perhaps it could be the food that keeps loyal Dallas / Fort Worth customers coming back. The menu focuses on chicken wings, with sauces ranging from mild to atomic, but there are also seasoned curly fries, shrimp, oysters, crab legs, burgers, and sandwiches, along with plenty of televisions tuned to whatever's going on in the sports world. Check out your local Hooters on Voice Places. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • Italian Cafe

    Italian Cafe

387 Las Colinas Blvd. E. Irving, TX 75039-5060
    972-401-0000

http://www.italianitaliancafe.com In Las Colinas between the famous canal and Lake Carolyn sits the neighborhood favorite restaurant/bar, Italian Café. They offer a wide selection of Italian comfort food-all the basic dishes and nothing fancy. But the food is delicious, whether you're ordering takeout or dining in. It's a great place to go to cure a hangover, and a great place to get one with it's fully stocked bar. And since most of the customers are residents of the nearby lofts and condos, it's easy to walk or ride your bike for a great Italian meal. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>

  • M Bar

    M Bar

221 E. Las Colinas Blvd. Irving, TX 75039
    972-556-0800

The M Bar, inside Las Colinas' Omni Mandalay Hotel, has remained tucked into the back corner of the lobby for more than a decade. But in recent years, it's received a face lift. Before, there were no walls separating the bar from the rest of the lobby, but now it feels much cozier in the confines of four light cedar walls, which includes the bar, some seating and a pool table. As expected in a hotel bar, it offers a decent selection of expensive scotches and bourbons, which is probably why the M Bar draws plenty of locals as well as hotel guests. • The Ranch at Las Colinas

    The Ranch at Las Colinas

857 John W. Carpenter Freeway Irving, TX 75063
    972-506-7262

http://www.theranchlc.com The mood evoked at The Ranch at Las Colinas goes far beyond its namesake. Yes, the design of the place, inside and out, suggests that you kick off your spurs and mosey up to the bar for a cold one. But the Lonesome Dove decorations are accompanied by a serious upscale vibe. The sleek granite bar top holds selections from The Ranch's more-than-ample wine list, as well as pints from the Texas-only draft menu. If you get hungry, there is more than just standard bar food. The menu features several items grown and harvested locally. And, to top it off, weekends feature live music on the porch, in addition to half-price wine on Saturday night.
