http://www.myspace.com/eightball.lounge Eight Ball Lounge has been family-owned and run since 1998. Primarily a pool hall, it also boasts foosball, air hockey, darts, shuffleboard and electric slots. Near the ceiling, a toy train chugs along the circumference of the bar, whose walls are lined with artwork that includes Godzilla with a Budweiser, Mondrian-esque installations and an elevator switchboard, making for a pleasantly disjointed combination. Dancers on the checkered floor move to the beats of a rotation of guest DJs primarily on Friday nights, and 8 Ball features daily happy hour and shot specials. The windowless dive also holds regular poker tournaments on weekends. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>
http://www.gordonbiersch.com/locations/dallas-tx It"s difficult to call a chain with operations as far flung as New York and Taiwan a microbrewery, but the regular and seasonal batches produced at each location are served only at that restaurant. You can"t get much more micro than that. This branch -- one of two Dallas-area Gordon Biersches - is at The Shops at Park Lane, and, like its sibling, hosts packed Brewer"s Dinners with off-the-menu meals created by the executive chef. The restaurant is such a popular hangout for beer geeks and fans of signature dishes such as American Kobe sliders and garlic fries, jumbo lump crab cake and Southwest eggroll that the wait can be long even during lunch. In the early evening, the place doubles as a restaurant. The beef for burgers is ground in-house daily, according to Scarborough. The décor, a cluttered bunch of pictures and antiques on every wall, gives the place a familiar feel. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>
http://www.newwestdallas.com New West Tejano Club has been open for 16 years, but unless you're a regular you might not have noticed the enormous club, since it's tucked behind an auto shop and a strip mall. Like Baby O's, it's open only two days a week, with a DJ on Friday and Tejano band on Saturday. Except for language, Tejano clubs are not much different from country bars: Customers wear Stetson hats and jeans, beer is usually the drink of choice and pickup trucks fill the parking lot. New West is typical -- just much bigger, with four bars, a pool room and a good sized dance floor in the middle. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>
http://www.parktaverndallas.com Park Tavern brings the gastropub experience to Park Lane, serving craft brews and bar food in a massive second-floor dining room. A patio provides for outdoor imbibing when the weather permits. Inside, the bar top, tables and other areas sprawl with enough seating for the largest party you could ever possibly conjure. Don’t think the menu is limited to burgers and chicken wings, though there are plenty of both if you’re feeling the need for meat and cheese. Park Tavern also offers more inspired plates, from octopus a la plancha, to lamb and more. Don’t eat too much. You gotta keep that party going if you’re going to hang out here. Late night at Park Tavern gets even more interesting, when you can ditch your bar stool for a spot on the dance floor. Read more about this Dallas bar or club >>
